Attorney Tara M. Swartz ~

Tara M. Swartz represents employees, students, and small businesses in all phases of litigation, including trials, administrative proceedings, alternative dispute resolution, and appeals. Ms. Swartz’s practice includes claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act, public accommodation, non-competition agreements, unpaid wages, unemployment, civil service, and various contract and tort-related claims.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Swartz was a founding member of the employment law firm of Siegel, Wagner & Swartz, LLC, a boutique law firm that concentrated on employment law and related litigation. Ms. Swartz also worked with the Honorable Lawrence P. Cohen of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts during law school.

Ms. Swartz has presented a continuing legal education seminar on ethical issues in employment law and co-drafted a continuing legal education article for the Massachusetts Labor & Employment Law Conference. Ms. Swartz currently volunteers her services for clients of the Women's Bar Foundation Family Law Project for Battered Women.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ms. Swartz assisted the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) with eligibility determinations for student-athlete infractions of the NCAA Bylaws. Ms. Swartz also assisted the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Athletics Department create a NCAA Compliance Manual.

Ms. Swartz is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (BA, BS '98), where she was a full-scholarship athlete on the Women's Gymnastics Team, and Northeastern University School of Law (JD '01). She is an active member of the Massachusetts, Boston and Women's Bar Associations
